We are so proud of our community support, our sponsors, advertisers, vendors, volunteers, and the dedication and creative spirit of our local gardeners who work diligently for a fun and enjoyable event to support literacy in our local community! The Gig Harbor Garden Tour is a two day event; it is run by dedicated volunteers, and Master Gardener docents. We cannot thank them enough! The profits generated from the Garden Tour go to fund literacy programs in the Gig Harbor and Key Peninsula area.
The profits from the 2014 Gig Harbor Garden Tour went to Discovery Elementary School to help support their Learning Assistance Program, Communities In Schools of Peninsula to help support their after school mentoring programs, Tacoma Community College in support of their literacy program specifically designed for adults, Key Peninsula Cooperative Preschool supporting the parent/child participation program at Vaughan and Evergreen Elementary Schools, Friends of Pediatrics Northwest for the Reach Out and Read program and Evergreen Elementary School to help purchase Chrome Books.
